Getting started: your first download
Five minutes, no sign-up and nothing else to install. This guide also covers the thing that puzzles most people first time round: where the file ends up.
1. Install
Add it from your browser store: Chrome Web Store, Edge Add-ons or addons.mozilla.org. No account to create and no details to hand over.
A tip: pin it to the toolbar (the puzzle-piece icon → pin). Buried in a menu, you will forget you have it.
2. Play and detect
Open the video page and press play for a few seconds. That step is not optional: detection works by watching what the player requests, so if the video has not started there is nothing to see.
Click the extension icon. What was detected appears, with its estimated size and — for a stream — the available qualities.
If nothing shows, reload the page with the extension already installed and press play again. The classic case is installing it with the tab already open.
3. Download and find the file
Pick a quality and download. The first time it asks where to save and points out that you can set this in Settings.
If you choose nothing, the file goes to your usual Downloads folder. In Settings → 📁 you can set a different folder per type: videos in one place, music in another, images somewhere else.
When a download finishes it offers Open file and Show in folder, which is the fastest way to settle any doubt.

Frequently asked questions
It detects nothing — what now?
Reload the page with the extension already installed and press play for a few seconds. The commonest cause is installing it with the tab already open: detection cannot see what happened before it existed.
Where did the file go?
To your Downloads folder, unless you chose another. When it finishes, the download itself offers "Show in folder" to take you straight there.
Do I have to sign up?
No. The extension works with no account. An email is only needed if you buy Premium, and the payment provider handles that.
How much can I download for free?
One video a day, plus separate daily quotas for images, documents and archives by size. Downloading photos does not use up your video download for the day.
